Piotr Tarnacki, one of the best sailors in Poland and in the world (9-time world champion) as well as a psychology and MBA student at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”, has been appointed the Ambassador of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” by HM the Provost, prof. dr hab. Paweł Czarnecki, MBA, DBA, LL.M, Dr h.c.
Piotr Tarnacki has been swimming professionally for 22 years. During this time, he won all the major trophies. He is a nine-time World Champion, winner of the European and World Cup, multi-trophy winner at the Polish Championships as well as a Sailor of the Year 2007 and 2008. In 2020, he was chosen the best sailor of the Pomerania Region, and for the third year in a row he was among the best athletes in Gdańsk.
In the 2022 season, Piotr Tarnacki, together with the Energa 77 Racing team, of which he is the founder and leader, will fight for the 10th world championship title in the Micro sailing class.
As part of our cooperation with Piotr Tarnacki, a sailing section of the Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” Sports Club was created, in which students of the University, while developing their skills, will be able to feel the sports spirit of fighting. The sailing section of the CH Sports Club will be operating within the Youth Sailing Academy 77 Racing Club Gdańsk. It is an innovative project that has a chance to become the first of such kind in Poland. Based on the world’s best practices, it combines sailing with maritime education as well as regatta sailing skills.
The cooperation of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” and Piotr Tarnacki is a tribute to a healthy competition in every area of life and corresponds to the mission of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”, for which setting high expectations, pursuing perfection, education and showing respect for others, especially our competitors – be it a professional or private basis – constitute the highest value. Convinced of the importance of successes resulting from hard work and effort, we go beyond the University thus promoting sailing, active recreation and healthy competition principles.
