Methodology and training conference on “Depression among children and adolescents – diagnosis, support, prevention” at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” – Wrocław
On 15 June, at the headquarters of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” in Wrocław at ul. Oławska 11, we held a methodological and training conference on “Depression among children and adolescents – diagnosis, support, prevention”.
Our guests, including psychology experts and experienced lecturers from our University, discussed such topics as: the issue of professional burnout among teachers, depression among children and adolescents, the notorious issue of suicide and self-injury as well as suicidality among adolescents.
The conference was officially opened by HM prof. dr hab. Paweł Czarnecki, MBA, dr h.c., Provost of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Poland, who underlined the importance of the issue of mental health among children and adolescents particularly during the many stages of education, and also the necessity to educate and train teachers in this area.
Among the speakers were: Office Director of the Wrocław Academic Centre, Mr Tomasz Janoś, Office Deputy Director of the Wrocław Academic Centre, Ms Monika Sochacka, Director of the Institute of Psychology and Pedagogy at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” in Warsaw, dr Teresa Panas, Member of the Institute of Psychology at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” in Wrocław, dr Krzysztof Kałużny, Member of the Institute of Psychology at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” in Wrocław, Ms Joanna Halicka-Masłowska and Member of the Institute of Psychology at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” in Wrocław, Ms Magdalena Semrau.
