Academic Sports Association (ASA) of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”
We are pleased to announce the formal establishment of the College Club of the Academic Sports Association (ASA) of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” which constituted on 23 February 2020 during the founding meeting that took place at the Rzeszów Branch of the University.
The main initiator of the establishment of the Club was Dominika Kulaga, a first year student of Psychology from Rzeszów, a competitive swimmer, member of the national sports team of youth, bronze medallist of the Polish Winter Championships for Seniors and Youth in Swimming 2019 and a multiple finalist of the Polish Championships. Since the student’s dream was to represent Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” during the swimming competitions on the national arena, she followed certain steps to create a university club that perfectly fitted into the mission of the University Sports Centre operating within the Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” structure.
And so the 6th of March 2020 will be embedded into the club’s history card as a day when the ASA Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” College Club was officially appointed as a regulatory unit operating within the ASA Environmental Organization as established during the meeting of the Presidium of ASA Main Board in Warsaw. The club operates based on its Statute.
The executive body of the Club is the Management Board consisting of five people. The composition of the Management Board was established in a secret ballot during the Founding Meeting and includes: Izabela Kulaga – President of the Club, Dominika Kulaga – Vice-President of the Club, Kamil Rączy – Secretary, Henryk Pietrzak – Member of the Board and Nizar Hałdys – Member of the Board. One of the main goals of the Club is to promote the idea of physical fitness, sport, active recreation and also to encourage as many students as possible to do sports not only professionally but above all for health and their own pleasure. The Club aims to facilitate wider participation in sports events and competitions, cooperation with the University authorities, the Student Union as well as various sports and social organizations, local government and institutions.
The Club’s main goal is to develop sports sections so that the largest possible number of students can find opportunities to spend their free time actively, practise their favourite disciplines and try their skills versus students from other universities. The Club’s greatest desire is for it to quickly become a showcase of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”, perfectly coordinating sports initiatives and achieving successes nationwide – both in amateur as well as academic competitions
