Ceremonial inauguration of the academic year 2022/23 at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” – Branch in Rzeszów
On 19 October, a ceremonial inauguration of the academic year 2022/23 took place at the University Branch in Rzeszów. The event was combined with an official opening of our new seat at ul. Okulickiego 10. The new office of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” was consecrated by HE dr Jan Wątroba, Bishop of the Diocese in Rzeszów. In addition, during the ceremony, an official matriculation of first-year students took place.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of such noble guests as: Councilor of the City of Rzeszów – Ms Grażyna Szarama, Director of the Subcarpathian Complex of Provincial Institutes in Rzeszów – Ms Krystyna Wróblewska, Ms Marzena Furtak-Żebracka representing the Department of Brands, Economic Cooperation and Tourism at the City Hall in Rzeszów, Parish Priest of the Christ the King Parish – Fr dr Janusz Podlaszczak, President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Rzeszów – Mr Mieczysław Łagowski, Mr Mateusz Szatan representing the National Clearing House, Deputy Director of the Provincial Employment Office in Rzeszów, President of the Sports and Cultural Chess Club – Mr Maciej Karasiński, Director of the Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Centre No. 2 in Rzeszów – Ms Dorota Dominik, Deputy Director of the Department of Development and Support for Education at the Provincial Department of Education in Rzeszów – Mr Marek Kondziołka, Director of the Research and Development Centre at the Medical Centre MEDYK – Dr Artur Grzesik, Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation at the University of Technology in Rzeszów – Prof. dr hab. eng. The inaugural lecture, entitled “How to deal with loss: the bioethical dimension”, was delivered by Fr prof. dr hab. Piotr Morciniec from the University of Opole.
The focal point of the ceremony was the matriculation of first-year students. On behalf of the new students, the oaths were taken by Piotr Nowak, Jakub Kraska, Jakub Haba, Marta Zięba-Kuźniar, Daniel Wacht, Karolina Widlak, Stanisław Motowidło, Gabriela Orłowska and Damian Piątek. Later, the Provost of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”, prof. dr hab. Paweł Czarnecki, symbolically touched the arms of new students with the University mace as a form of approval of their swearing-in as students of Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia”.
The Provost then awarded dr Ewa Rzeszutko-Wójcik with the title of a University Professor. In addition, diplomas of recognition were presented to the most diligent students for their academic achievements.
Our new students were also welcomed by Mr Sebastian Krauz, President of the Student Union at Uczelnia Biznesu i Nauk Stosowanych „Varsovia” – Branch in Rzeszów.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the performance of the Academic Choir from the University of Technology in Rzeszów which performed Gaude Mater Polonia, Bogurodzica and Gaudeamus Igitur. Whereas Mr Grzegorz Wilk had a concert of Polish Popular Music.
